KINVENT’s newest biofeedback sensor, K-Power, pushes the boundaries of motion measurement and revolutionizes performance tracking
For decades, measuring an athlete’s speed, acceleration, power and agility was an imprecise exercise that required a hodgepodge of things: GPS trackers, high-speed cameras, timing and speed gate systems, accelerometers, gyroscopes… the list goes on. While those tools can give coaches and trainers insight into certain facets of an athlete’s performance, they don’t paint a complete picture of the intricate biomechanics that power a sprint, long jump or back squat.
K-Power, KINVENT’s latest hybrid sensor, makes incomplete analyses, cumbersome testing setups, and guesswork a thing of the past – and ushers in a new era of performance tracking, where coaches and trainers have instant insight into velocity, power output and movement quality, and can help athletes unlock their potential and reduce the risk of injury.
A Technological Breakthrough: IMU & UWB Integration
Unlike GPS trackers and accelerometers, which are powered by a single technology, K-Power is a hybrid sensor that integrates inertial measurement unit (IMU) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies. By marrying IMU and UWB and combining them with KINVENT’s low-latency wireless technology, K-Power measures horizontal and vertical speed, acceleration, power and distance with minimal drift and lab-level accuracy.
With K-power, coaches and trainers no longer need to waste time extrapolating data after a training session. Data from the sensor is sent to the KINVENT Physio App and analyzed by Kassandra AI in real time, for instant, actionable insights. As a result, users can adjust an athlete’s technique, level up or dial down the intensity of an activity, or tweak a recovery plan instantly.
Versatility from Field to Clinic & Beyond
K-Power is lightweight and wireless, with cable-free tracking up to 30 meters. It works indoors and outdoors, making it suitable for use on the field, or in the gym or clinic. The versatile sensor can be used to conduct over 80 exercises and excels in a wide variety of settings, including:
- Track & Field: Use with a tripod to analyze an athlete’s stride and sprint mechanics
- Strength Training: Attach to a barbell to measure bar speed and an athlete’s power and acceleration
- Team Sports: Use multiple devices to analyze the performance of individual athletes, including sprint performance, acceleration and distance covered
- Rehabilitation: Monitor an athlete’s range of motion and recovery progress after injury to make better-informed return to sport decisions
While K-Power shines in athletic training and rehabilitative applications, it can also be used outside the gym or off the field:
- Neuro & Ortho Protocols: Assist patients with mobility challenges with highly controlled and precise data
- Research & Testing: Precisely assess muscle performance under controlled resistance with objective, repeatable and highly accurate data

K-Power is the latest innovation in the KINVENT ecosystem, which includes force plates (K-Force Plates, K-Deltas, K-Deltas XL and K-Deltas 3D), dynamometers (K-Grip, K-Push, K-Pull, K-Bubble), a goniometer (K-Move), and an electromyography (EMG) sensor (K-Myo). All KINVENT biofeedback devices connect to the Physio App and can be used alone or in conjunction with one another.
Like all other KINVENT sensors, K-Power empowers strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists and others to measure athletic performance, health, and recovery for amateur and professional athletes – and track progress over time.
