Manual test stands, sometimes called mechanical test stands, are a low cost option for compression and tension force testing.
- Lever actuated models for quick action tests. Hand wheel operated models are for more precise testing.
- The test stand will need to have a high enough force capacity for the test. A force gauge will also need to be chosen with a force range in mind. When looking at lower force testing, be sure to take into account the weight of the grips and attachments.
- Travel distance and clearance space also matter in determining the correct test stand. Take into account that some of the space will be taken up by grips and fixtures. Most test stand models have extensions that can be added for additional clearance space.
- If measuring the distance is important to your testing, choose a test stand that has a travel display option.
If a set speed is important for your testing we have motorized test stands available.
