Questions when choosing a universal testing machine
Most universal testing machines can perform a variety of tests, including tensile, compression, flexural (bend), shear, peel, puncture, and cyclic tests. The appropriate grips and fixtures will depend on the specific test type.
The test stand must have sufficient capacity to handle the maximum expected force.
If your applications involve both low and high force measurements, you may need multiple load cells to accurately cover the full range.
The force range is also a determining factor when choose grips and fixtures.
Identify which testing software can deliver the results you require. Basic systems may only measure force and displacement, while advanced models can calculate properties such as tensile strength, compression strength, flexural strength, and modulus.
