Tensile grips for material testing are used in tensile testing machines to hold and secure a material sample as it is subjected to tension (stretching) forces. The primary purpose of these grips is to ensure that the specimen is firmly clamped during the test so that the load is applied uniformly across the material, allowing accurate measurement of its tensile strength, elongation, and other mechanical properties.
Connections on our grips and fixtures are threaded or have a female eye end. Grips and fixtures with a female eye end will have a 5/8" or 1.25" diameter. These sizes are standard for Lloyd Instruments, Chatillon, and Mark-10 equipment. We also sell these brands of test stands, load cells, and force gauges to use with our grips and fixtures.
We have adapters to fit our grips and fixtures to any test stand brand including Instron, MTS, Zwick, Shimpo, and more.
If you need assistance to determine which grip, fixture or adapter is needed, please contact us.
